With more than 1.2 million members worldwide, Rotary has competent and active helpers everywhere who can help people in the event of a disaster and help them rebuild.
Rotary members and the Rotary Foundation play a unique role in disaster relief and reconstruction. In close cooperation with our partner ShelterBox and other organizations that specialize in disaster relief, Rotary members carry out projects that support every phase of the reconstruction of affected communities.
Rotary supports three phases of help:
- Immediate help: Our local clubs and our partners help immediately and organize urgently needed relief goods.
- Short-term help: Our clubs and districts support affected communities wherever they can with funding and materials to help restore day-to-day operations.
- Long-term reconstruction: Our clubs plan and carry out projects for the reconstruction of affected communities.
